Public Art
I think that public art is where sculpture has its greatest social impact, therefore its main importance as a means of disseminating conceptual and aesthetic ideas. A work that remains in a public place for a long period of time can achieve a relationship and sense of belonging in the community that is hard to achieve with any other type of work.
I arrived at public art through international sculpture symposiums and various institutional commissions that have allowed me to communicate with a wider spectrum of people with my work and to move beyond the limits of galleries and collections.
My large format sculptures are a reflection of the motivations my work has had in its different stages; they are closely related to the different series of works that I have created throughout my career.
